Teacher Appreciation Week!

(Bethany loves to paint!  Okay, so she didn't attach the wagon wheels or handle, but she did place the cellophane, feathers, and dots on the top art piece.  They don't use glue.  The materials just stick to the paint.  These are proudly displayed on our fridge and I'll cherish them forever!)

Teacher Appreciation Week is a fun week to be a teacher.  It is nice to be on the receiving end of homemade cards, coupons for free meals, encouraging letters, and sweet gifts.  It is especially nice to be reminded that teenagers really do care and are paying attention to what you say!

This week we are also appreciating Bethany's teachers!  I know it may seem funny to some to think of an infant's caregivers as teachers, but truly, these wonderful ladies are teachers!  There are seven infants including Bethany in Bethany's class and the three teachers who work with them are really exquisite women.

These ladies put on puppet shows, lead music, help with art, play outside on the infant playground, and also somehow have time to soothe, feed, and change diapers!  There are days I know they are exhausted, but every afternoon when I walk in, the head teacher is ready to discuss Bethany's day in detail.  She never hesitates to share any concern and is always eager to tell me when Bethany has learned something new!

We are so thankful for these ladies who love and care for our precious girl while we're working.  They do so much for her.  We are also so grateful that they make her time away from us fun, exciting, and engaging.  Bethany is brimming with personality and has learned so much over the last few months.  While we certainly have had a hand in that, we can't take all the credit.  Her teachers are wonderful!  To say that we are proud of our Bethany is an understatement.  It is a joy and honor to be her parents and we are glad and so deeply appreciative that her teachers are helping her learn and discover more about the world around her!
