Bidding Adieu to May 2011

Firstly, it is Memorial Day.  Today is a day where we should remember those soldiers and servicemen who have given their lives for the sake of others.  We should be thankful and grateful for their sacrifice.  We should be supportive and appreciaitive toward our miliary and their families and we should remember how blessed we are to live in America.

Secondly, it is the last day of May.  I'm slightly saddened to see it go!  Aside from my dad being in the hospital, May has been a GREAT month for me, Marcus, and Bethany.  We have been busy, yes, but it has been a full-of-life type of busy that is good for the soul.

I need to do an eight month post, but in case I don't, Bethany is pulling herself up on EVERYTHING now.  She doesn't just climb up on us anymore.  It's furniture, chairs, walls.  EVERYTHING!  It is funny how quickly things change in a couple of weeks.  She is also starting to try and test how long she can stand without holding onto anything.  No walking, but we can tell she wants to walk.  Her favorite thing is to walk and jump in the inflatable pool with her baby-safe tube.  Her expressions and moods are bigger now, too.  She is making all kinds of sounds with her babbling and it is so cute.  She also knows how to shower us with her spit with all of her funny air blowing tricks.

She doesn't have any teeth and doesn't show a lot of interest in gumming foods.  She loves her purees, however, and occassionally will eat an entire pouch of Ella's Kitchen butternut squash mix!  She does like to eat real watermelon in tiny pieces, but still doesn't want anything to do with baby puffs.

I've been recording LOTS of viedo of baby Bethany lately.  The recordings are super adorable.

All right . . . maybe I will try and back track some and recap more of this wonderful month for my next post . . . we'll see.  I'm not even sure when I will be writing agin!  :)
