(Bethany's first walk around the neighborhood where she did the walking!)
Okay, so this post is a little late, but my students started back to school this week and I haven't had any blog time. Friday night, however, means a little down time and I can update on what my sweet eleven month old is doing!
Bethany is walking and running. She has been walking since was ten months and watching her master the skill has been a blast. Toddlers are ridiculously cute, although, I hesitate to use the word "toddler" because my baby is not yet a year old!
She is talking using all sorts of new and different sounds. Sometimes we're sure we hear "yeah" and "oh". We definitely hear "dada"! "Mama" is rare unless she's upset. Haha.
She is a little eater. Preschool has her eating all sorts of new foods. Some of them I don't know if I would have tried this early, but she enjoys them. For example, she had a grilled cheese sandwich today. Bethany loves anything with cheese. Oh, and the other day she had pizza. I know, I know . . . even I was like, pizza? Really? Thankfully, they also throw cooked veggies and fruit into their day, so I'm thankful for that.
Toys aren't as interesting as they used to be, but certain things do hold her attention. We bought her a doll stroller and she loves to push her doll around. She also likes to knock over towers of blocks and make noise with any and all type of noise makers or instruments. She is becoming more interested in crayons and play-doh. She loves anything she can use to color or paint. She still loves her books, too. Tonight, she had a blast in Barnes and Noble pulling books off of shelves (we put them back) and reading books with Mama and Dada.
She loves to share with us by feeding us whatever it is she is eating . . . unless it is something she really likes. If it is something she really likes, she'll hold it out for us, but then eat it herself at the last second. It's super cute and hilarious.
She sleeps through the night. It is bliss. We have been getting her to bed by (or just before) 8pm and she usually wakes on her own right around 7:30am. I like her to get at least eleven hours of sleep a night, but am happier when she gets eleven and a half.
She nurses in the morning and at night. She recently dropped her afternoon nursing session. She gets one bottle of whole milk at school. I know, you can judge, but she won't take formula, and my days of pumping three times a day are over. She honestly could probably go without the bottle, but it makes naptime much easier for her.
She went out to eat with us tonight at one of our favorite local sea food restaurants. She loves going there and the owners' know her little face. As long as we're in a restaurant we can get in and out of around two hours she does fine. After two hours - all bets are off!
We look at her and see such a big girl now! I'm thankful that she is still bald because at least I can hold on to that baby face for just a little bit longer. Before I know it, she is going to have hair and really will start looking more like a toddler. I can wait. I'm loving this last month before my precious baby Bethany turns one in September!
