Catching Up!

So, I realize it's been awhile since my last update.  Marcus and I have been busy-busy-busy with the whole unpacking and getting settled process that it's kind of taken a toll on blogging.  We also were both sick with a cold for about half of the month which was also unhelpful.  Our home is still unfinished, but we've gotten a few rooms figured out!  (I can't wait to post pictures of Bethany's nursery.  I love it!)  Creating our home is a lot of fun and I know that housekeeping is a continual project.  We were thinking about having a housewarming, but we may skip it.  We're undecided.

The night we closed on the house, I wrote a HUGE blog discussing how hard we had worked to save, plan, and sacrifice for the home and how much we appreciated Dave Ramsey and all of his financial advice and how much we had learned from our past mistakes . . . and then the computer froze and I lost the whole thing.  Looking back, I guess I am kind of glad it didn't post.  It was pretty personal.  All everyone needs to know is that we're loving our home and if you have never picked up and read anything by Dave Ramsey - do so!  He's got great advice!

So far, we've had a nice weekend.  Last night, Marcus and I went to Outback for dinner for our date night and walked around Lowe's looking at grills for his Father's Day present.  We also went to Barnes and Noble so I could pick up a test prep book for my upcoming K-6 certification exam - more on that later.  Today, my parents and sister came to visit us and we all had lunch together before going to see Toy Story 3 which we all thoroughly enjoyed - including my mother - who usually only goes for action films.  In the afternoon, Marcus and I went grocery shopping and back to Lowe's to get his grill.  He's pretty excited to start grilling this summer!  He didn't get to grill this evening, but we still got to cook dinner together which was relaxing.  I'm excited to celebrate Marcus's first Father's Day as a father-to-be and see the in-laws tomorrow!
