Bethany at 8 weeks 2 days old wearing her cute little birdies and bunnies onesie. This onesie (along with several other cute outfits!) was sent all the way from Germany from Marcus' Aunt Sonja and Uncle Andreas!
Well, it has been eight weeks since Bethany's blessed arrival. Our big two month appointment is coming up next week and I'm nervous because she will be getting her first round of shots. I know it's going to break my heart! Both my parents and Marcus's parents have reiterated that it's difficult watching your sweet baby being stuck with a needle. It's not going to be fun for any of us! We'll make sure that we hug on our sweet girl even more than we already do on that day.
At eight weeks post-pregnancy, life is good. I am close to my pre-pregnancy weight, but I'm pretty sure my hips will never be the same again. Several of my jeans don't quite fit the way they used to, that's for sure! It's also funny to have the feeling of being cold again. During my pregnancy, I was NEVER cold. Now, I get cold all the time! I can pick myself up off the floor which is awesome and I am still floored at how quickly I lost most of the pregnancy weight. Breast feeding is a seriously amazing weight loss tool, but because breast feeding burns so many calories it also makes you super hungry. The cravings are gone, but I can still eat!
Once this blog gets its makeover, I'm hoping to post some blogs that I follow in the side column. One of my friends writes this great blog about being a wife, a mom, and an educator. I love reading it. She focuses on particular topics and is always so insightful. Sometimes I think it would be fun to have a more focused topic specific blog, but mine will always be an online journal. My brother gave me a journal for my tenth birthday and I've been journaling ever since. It's a part of me.
So far, this fall has been fabulous. Babies have been born, pregnancies have been announced, weddings have been celebrated, and we've shared each day with the most wonderful and sweet baby girl. So much life and so much to be thankful for! God is good!
