Four Months!

Bethany is four months old!

Bethany had a great four month check-up.  She weighs 13 lbs. 13 oz. (50th percentile) and is 25 3/4" long (95th percentile).  Her head circumference is 14" around (50th percentile).  Most importantly, she is healthy.  No ear infection.  No fever.  It's good to know our sweet girl is feeling good again.

At four months, Bethany loves to coo, babble, and squeal.  She can get really loud when she wants to be heard.  She loves to grasp certain toys, especially her plush teething kitty and her Skwish.  Her Skwish is probably her favorite right now.  She still loves her ladybug and duck which are each attached to a pull chain that allows the toys to crawl back up when pulled.  She has mastered the art of pulling the duck in order to watch it climb.  Marcus and I are super impressed.  Haha!

Bethany can turn herself onto her side and almost gets herself onto her tummy, but hasn't quite flipped entirely yet.  She is great on her tummy and can easily flip onto her back.  I can tell she wants to crawl, but hasn't gotten it completely figured out yet.  She is definitely a wiggler and a scooter.  She loves to move!  Her teachers at daycare tell us that she is an advanced baby which makes me and Marcus smile.

Even with all of her leaps and bounds developmentally, we still have yet to hear her really laugh.  We've heard some small giggles, but we're still anxiously awaiting that heart melting, super sweet laugh.  She certainly gets us laughing, though.  Her daily conversations with us are the most wonderful thing in the world. 

It is absolutely amazing how much she has grown in the last four months.  I am in awe of the miracle of life and God's blessing in giving us a daughter.  From the way she smiles at us to the way she responds to our voices.  It's just incredible.  I am loving being her mommy and Marcus is loving being her daddy.  We're so blessed and so thankful.
