Bethany - six weeks and two days old!
Yesterday was a good day. Even though 5am is early, starting my day with a little reflection, prayer, and perspective really made everything so much better.
Bethany is making more and more little noises and we're sure we've seen a few "on purpose" smiles lately. I love her little sounds. It makes me sad to think that her reflux is only going to get worse around month three, but who knows, maybe we'll be the exception? Haha. Unlikely, but I can hope and pray. I'm just super thankful it doesn't make her inconsolable. She is fussy sometimes, but she doesn't appear to be in agonizing pain the way some babies who deal with GERD are. (We've read our handout from the doctor and that's the official name. Haha.) My poor sweet baby girl has to deal with lots and lots of spit-up and she's definitely a little tooter. How ladylike! It will be so much fun to tell her these stories when she is a teenager.
Last night, Marcus and I were watching baby Cici's Christening on The Office. (We're hoping to have baby Bethany baptized around January.) Anyway, Jim and Pam call their baby "Cici" which led Marcus to say that Bethany's nickname should be "Bibi" (pronounced bee-bee) because her initials are B.B. Will it stick? I don't know, but I think it's kind of cute.
Marcus has been super awesome with Bethany on his afternoons home from work. He feeds her her daily bottle and plays with her. It's sweet. He's definitely getting more and more comfortable with his little girl and it's been a lot of fun to watch that process. Bethany gave her daddy a big smile the other day as he was showing her her bunny rattle. So sweet.
Today is also a good day! It's Friday and I so love the weekends with my family!
