September!

We celebrated Marcus's 26th birthday on the 4th.  Marcus really wanted to have a simple and relaxing day, so we went out to breakfast (around noon - haha.), saw a movie, and then celebrated together at home.  It was nice.  Here he is posing with his watermelon cake.  (It's actually chocolate with buttercream frosting.)  I think we were both secretly hoping that Bethany would want to make her big debut on his birthday . . . but nope, not yet!

This picture is actually from August.  Marcus's mom, dad, and sister brought us some adorable baby gifts.  We're all getting excited for Bethany, especially Marcus.  These are the questions he has asked me non-stop this weekend:

"Did your water break?"
"Are you having contractions?"
"Did you have the baby yet?"
"Do we need to go to the hospital?"
"Are you having the baby now?"

It's sweet and funny at the same time.  Honestly . . . I'm looking forward to when I can finally say yes as a response to any one of those questions!  Currently, I'm still just having braxton-hicks and crazy weird pressure down low.  Although, my tummy was so super hard this morning that if Bethany hadn't started moving, I might have made us go to the hospital . . . but she's been moving, so all is well.  I keep hoping that I'll go into labor sometime soon . . . as in sometime in the next 24 hours (haha . . . ), but if not, we have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and hopefully, we'll have some sort of  update or idea or guesstimate as to when . . .

Here I am at 37 weeks.  (So VERY pregnant.)  Currently, I'm 38 weeks.  I have a torpedo tummy, for sure.  Marcus and I are trying to wait patiently and enjoy these last few days together as just us.  I am happy to say that we've enjoyed 11 superb date nights over the last three months.  (Will we make it to date night number 12?  Only time will tell!)  In our marriage, we've always made date night a priority, but we really stepped it up in our last trimester of pregnancy!

Oh, we also booked a photographer for our newborn/family session after Bethany arrives.  We thought about maternity photos, but decided if we were going to spend money, we would much rather spend money on pictures of the baby instead of the belly.  Not that I don't think belly pictures are sweet . . . I'd just rather have the family photos!
