This is my sister-in-law (my brother's wife), Katie. She stayed with me and Bethany from Monday through Thursday of this week to help out around the house while I recover. She has been amazing! Marcus returned to work on Monday, so it was also super nice to have her company during the day. Katie did everything from loads of laundry to vacuuming to preparing lunches to holding Bethany to just lending a hand wherever she could. We also had fun together. During our down time while Bethany was sleeping, we would watch episodes of Glee from season one. (Yes, we have caved in and have joined the Glee fan club. We're almost finished with the first season.) Katie has such a beautiful servant's heart. I appreciate her and love her so much!
Katie and my brother, Bobby, are at 75% of their monthly support goal for their mission work in Thailand. They're so close! I am excited for them and for all that God has planned for them - even though Marcus and I will both miss them like crazy. They're two of our very closest friends. Even though we'll deeply miss them, we know they have a calling to fulfill and we support them in that. If you or someone you know is interested in supporting two incredible people who love God and love others, please let me know.
We're also thankful for our friends, Tyler and Krisia, as well as the Abbott family who also have servant's hearts. They prepared delicious dinners for us this week! Thank you so much to Abbie Abbott for organizing meals for us. We're blessed by an incredible Summit Connect group and incredible friendships!
I love being Bethany's mommy. She is such an incredible blessing and Marcus and I love her so much. We are completely enamored with her. She is such a good baby and has even been sleeping more often at night. (I read an article that said to get her to sleep more on her own at night, hold her while she sleeps during the day and make sure that wherever she sleeps during the day is well-lit. Such simple things, but both of them seemed to have helped.) Marcus and I feel so blessed to be Bethany's parents. We're so thankful. I'm also so thankful and grateful that Marcus is such a good daddy. Watching him with our daughter makes my heart melt.
I have been told several times that everyday will only get better . . . which is hard to comprehend when I find everyday so wonderful now!
Yesterday, Bethany had her big photo shoot with Melissa Soto. (Melissa Soto is a photographer who was recommended to me by a friend from church.) We loved working with her and it turns out she grew up in Melbourne and went to Satellite High School just like me and Marcus. Bethany wasn't exactly ready to cooperate in the beginning of the shoot, but after awhile, she became sleepy and was the perfect angel. Marcus and I were tinkled on a couple of times during the photo session, but we didn't mind. The pictures are going to be great and we know that we will be tinkled on many more times in the future!
