Marcus and I are the proud parents of a two week old. In two weeks our whole world has changed to 3am feedings, lots of diaper changes, baby baths, snuggles, swaddles, and sleeping for two to three hour chunks at a time. We wouldn't have it any other way. We love our sweet daughter.
I have been feeling much better as of Saturday. I still can't go walk a mile, but I can walk around our block. Getting up from lying down in bed is now painless as well - which is a big deal. For awhile, I wondered if I would EVER feel okay getting up out of bed. The human body's ability to heal is absolutely amazing. Our God is one omnipotent designer.
I know I'm feeling better because yesterday I made dinner and today I'm tackling some laundry. It's nice being productive when I have the chance.
Our Bethany is such a good little girl. This past Saturday and Sunday, she was alert and awake during her first two walks around the block. It was so cute getting to see her look all around outside. I know she can't see too much yet, but I hope she enjoyed all the different colors. Marcus and I enjoyed the fresh air and the lovely fall weather. (Please, please stay! It would be so nice to have a REAL fall in Florida!) Although, yesterday, she didn't want to have anything to do with a walk. Haha. We had to cut it short. She also had a little trouble falling asleep last night, but Daddy got her nice and swaddled and mommy rocked her and she finally dozed off to dreamland. Again, such a good baby!
Hopefully, one of these nights when Marcus is home, I'll be able to put up some of our cute Halloween decorations. I'm excited for Bethany's first fall. She is still so tiny that unless I can find something really comfortable for her, I probably won't be doing a Halloween costume . . . but maybe a cute onesie. Plus, not many things fit her correctly! She's so long and lean that only a few things really fit her. So far, the best brand and size is Carters newborn clothing/onesies and Gerber newborn onesies. Everything else is way too wide. I'm sure she'll start to fill out her outfits eventually . . . I just hope that when she does - the outfits are not too short! :)
The first televised Orlando Magic game is tonight! Marcus is super excited! I'm excited for a new episode of Glee. (Yep. We watched the entire first season and are now caught up with season two.) Glee reminds me of my own high school days when I was in Satellite's show choir - Ten Tones. Good times. Marcus and I cherish our dinner and down-time in the evenings. When/if Bethany sleeps during dinner/down-time . . . we make sure that we get to share a good snuggle and a kiss or two. I'm glad he still loves to cuddle when my hair is a mess and I smell like baby spit-up. I'm so blessed to be married to such a wonderful man! ♥
