Wonderful Weekend!

What a wonderful weekend!  A friend of mine posted, "sometimes you need a weekend just to recover from the weekend" as her Facebook status this morning and I couldn't agree with her more.  I'm definitely a little tired this morning and I know it has more to do with our busy Friday, Saturday, and Sunday than it does with the fact that I've been up since 5:20am today.

Marcus had the day off on Friday.  I love three-day weekends and I love them even more when I get to share them with my husband!  We spent the day at home catching up on some shows we had DVRed and playing with sweet Bethany.  Perfectly relaxing!

Saturday was busy, but fun.  Marcus watched the disappointing UCF game and afterward we headed out to Once Upon A Child and Babies R Us.  Bethany does so WELL on outings.  She sleeps most of the time and if she is awake, she is just mesmerized by her new surroundings!  Such a good baby.  (I've been told by everyone this stage doesn't last and that outings become increasingly more difficult, but I will stay optimistic until we experience a public melt-down!)  At OUAC, I traded some of her newborn clothing for a couple of cute things.  (Nope, I'm definitely not above children's consignment when it comes to clothing!)  At Babies R Us, we bought a second carseat base.  (Finally!  Haha.)  I also looked at Christmas dresses because I haven't found one that I'm in love with.  (She has a sweet dress that she wore to our friends' wedding this weekend, but it's black and white and I really want something in a color.  I WISH I KNEW HOW TO SEW!  That would make this so much easier.  Haha.)  We ended our fun evening with dinner, grocery shopping, an eggnog shake, and a decaf pumpkin spice latte.  (Eggnog for Marcus.  Pumpkin for me.)

On Sunday, we got to church at 7am because I was part of BCL.  It's great to be serving with the children's ministry again and I enjoyed being a part of the Detective Dumbo sketch.  Bethany was quiet through the service and fell asleep at the very end.  Again, such a good baby!  After church, we headed to Target for diapers and a wedding card.  (Target has the best prices on big boxes of Pampers.  Pampers knows what they're doing when they distribute diapers to hospitals because Bethany has been in Pampers since birth and we are loyal customers!)  The wedding card was for our friends, Tyler and Krisia.  We miraculously managed to make it to their 4pm wedding on time and Bethany didn't make a peep until the applause at the end of the ceremony.  (I was praying super hard about that!)  The bride, wedding, and reception were all absolutely gorgeous and we loved sharing Tyler and Krisia's special day with their friends and family.  TJ and Emily came over after the wedding to catch-up and we made s'mores.  (We made them on Friday and had leftover chocolate, graham crackers, and marshmallows!)  There is nothing better than twenty-somethings catching up over s'mores!  Love it!
